Volunteering
Could you volunteer with Remap Herefordshire? You don’t have to be a professional engineer, anyone with good practical skills and design ideas can contribute. It helps if you have a workshop or somewhere you can work on things and you need a car to reach the many people we help across the local area.
Interested? Please contact Remap Herefordshire through Steve Hackett on 07518 512265 or email remap.herefordshire@gmail.com
Terry, one of our volunteers, says:
“When I first took early retirement from engineering, I built a kit car, but once that was completed; I was looking for another “project”. I then joined Remap, as it provides a steady flow of technically challenging projects, but without the pressures of work!

An example of one of my jobs was where Josh, who suffers from cerebral palsy, was flown to the United States for specialist spinal surgery. On his return, he started a program of physiotherapy which included use of a treadmill. I made a set of adjustable handrails which adapted an adult machine for his use and enabled him to safely carry out a range of exercises, including walking sideways. The rails were made with the assistance of two local companies.
